What are the different ways to dispose of waste in E14?
Rubbish collections, which are available in E14 through either the local council or private contractors, are the most common means of waste disposal in the district. Tipping is less practical an option due to most of the licenced waste transfer stations or recycling centres in the vicinity only being able to take construction waste. There are several facilities across the river that are able to accept general household or commercial refuse and recycling, but the time it would take for a trip to that area makes them highly impractical. As such, much of the waste that cannot be handled by the council’s regular collections are typically left to the paid-for services offered by local man & van businesses or larger waste management companies or, where possible, taken to one of E14’s five recycling banks (Manchester Road, Westferry Road, John Smith Mews, Newell Street, or Dee Street).
