Gipsy Hill is a pleasantly laidback residential district, situated within the London Borough of Croydon. It’s approximately 953 metres long and is surrounded by Upper Norwood, West Dulwich, Crystal Palace and Sydenham. It was once a relatively inaccessible rural settlement occupied by Gypsies until the 19th century, from where it derived its name. The calm and quiet suburban area of Gipsy Hill houses a close-knit community consisting of professional couples and families. Its high elevation provides stunning views of the city enjoyed by its residents along with parks, recreational grounds and a lake. Gipsy Hill is also lined with a parade of pubs, bars, grocery stores, cafes, organic food stalls, shops and restaurants. It also boasts well-preserved Victorian style properties, flats, cottages, Edwardian family homes and contemporary apartments. It is just 45 minutes away from the city centre via the A215 and is served by the Gipsy Hill Railway Station.
