The N1C postcode is used exclusively by King’s Cross Central (KXC), a high-density, mixed-use development north-east of central London within the London Borough of Camden. The area became a target for major widespread redevelopment following the start of work on HS1 in 2000. Though construction is still ongoing, parts of the N1C area were first opened to the public back in 2011, with more restaurants and public spaces gradually opening up since. The Great Northern Hotel, on Pancras Road, has been refurbished, and the transformation of Coal Drops Yard into a massive shopping complex and public space was completed in 2018. Residents have even started to occupy the completed apartment buildings. Extensive transport links to and from N1C are available, including six London Underground lines and four railway lines. Additionally, KXC allows for convenient access to the four main airports in the South East.
