Stamford Hill is an Inner London neighbourhood located roughly 8.9 km north-east of Charing Cross and considered a sub-district of Hackney within the London Borough of Hackney. Much of the area remained largely rural until the arrival of both tram and railway systems late in the 19th century, which resulted in a period of rapid development and its transformation into a bustling interchange district. Due to Stamford Hill’s location at the borough border, its residents are served by a healthy number of Transport for London bus routes, which are further complemented by the Stamford Hill, South Tottenham, and Stoke Newington railway stations and the Seven Sisters interchange to provide more than ample transport links to both the surrounding areas and central London.
