Kensington Gardens is a vast open green space straddling the boroughs of the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Once a small plot of land taken from Hyde Park which became the private gardens of Kensington Palace, it is now among the Royal Parks of London and the most popular among locals and visitors. Sitting on approximately 275 acres of Land, Kensington Gardens provide visitors with a much needed retreat and tranquillity from the hectic city lifestyle. It also features an elaborate greenhouse, several iconic statues and monuments, playgrounds including the Princess of Wales Memorial Playground, lovely ornamental flower beds, formal avenues of stunning trees, Italian gardens, fountains, Albert Memorial, Serpentine Gallery, a variety of mature trees and a wealth of wildlife. There’s also a cafe inside the Grade I listed Kensington Gardens with a refreshments kiosk during the summer where visitors can fully relax.
