Bow is an east London district that covers most of the north-east corner of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The area, which was previously most well-known for being home to most of Victoria Park, became the target of moderate redevelopment efforts as part of the construction of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, part of which now also falls within its boundaries. Bow is predominantly a built-up, residential area featuring a diverse mix of modern blocks of flats, Georgian terraced houses, and refurbished council estates. Roman Road, the district’s main commercial centre, is not only famous for the Roman Road Market, but also as one of London’s most exemplary traditional high streets. Due in part to the improvements in its neighbourhoods following the 2012 Olympics and its ample complement of convenient transport links, Bow has become one of the most desirable residential districts in the region.
