The district of Edmonton in north London is located roughly 13.5 km north-northeast of Charing Cross within the London Borough of Enfield. The area was developed in multiple stages over the years, with the opening of the Edmonton Green railway station marking one of the major points in the district’s growth. As a result of Edmonton’s long history, the locality is home to a large number of sites and structures that have historic significance, including Angel Place, Millfield House, Lamb’s Cottage, and the Crescent. The Edmonton Green Shopping Centre is the main retail hub in the district, though a secondary collection of shopping parades can be found along and around Angel, which is considered its actual high street. Despite covering a relatively large area, Edmonton’s transport links are mainly limited to overground transport and bus routes, with the Edmonton Green, Silver Street, and Meridian Water Station being the most accessible.
