Historically an agricultural hamlet situated within the parish of Mortlake, East Sheen is now a privileged locality within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It lies on the southern side of Mortlake and the eastern side of Richmond nestled between the river Thames and the prestigious Richmond Park. Famously known as the home of Sir Time Bernes-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, East Sheen is also home to some of the wealthiest families in London, which continuously generate an increasing amount of cumulative waste from the area. East Sheen features a range of properties including well-preserved 18th and 19th-century mansions, as well as newly-built contemporary apartments, there is also a great school system in the area making it an ideal family location. This affluent suburb also offers a great selection of boutiques, indie shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs along Sheen Lane. East Sheen is just an hour away from the city centre via the A4 and is served by the Mortlake Railway Station.
