Royal Docks is a locality within the London Borough of Newham that is part of London’s redeveloped Docklands area. It has been built up as a special enterprise zone, which, combined with the fact that most of its regeneration took place at a later time than the rest of the Docklands, has resulted in the area generally having more modern residential and commercial properties, such as the Eastern Quay and Capital East apartment blocks and the large retail park in Gallions Reach. Royal Docks also boasts a good number of parks in addition to other leisure amenities, like a water park and several marinas and boat clubs. The London City Airport is also located in Royal Docks, between the Royal Albert and King George V docks, with those flying in being afforded immediate access to the area’s extensive assortment of pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
