What you need to know about Kilburn

Kilburn

Kilburn is a locality in the north-west London region whose area falls within the boundaries of the London Boroughs of Camden and Brent and the City of Westminster. Left largely undeveloped, construction projects in the 1820s helped the area grow from a roadside hamlet into the district we see today. Modern day Kilburn has been designated as a major centre in the London Plan, with a bustling High Road of retailers, restaurants, and businesses, there is also a varied collection of properties ranging from substantial Victorian houses to modest council estates. One of its most famous landmarks, Saint Augustine’s, is a large Gothic church whose size has led to it being called “North London’s Cathedral.” The district is served by a generous handful of transport links, with numerous buses traversing the High Road to central and west London, and convenient access to three railway stations and the Kilburn Underground station, (which actually happens to be in Brondesbury Park).
