Shadwell is a district within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets that occupies the area along the River Thames between Ratcliff and Wapping. Like many other parts of the borough, the neighbourhood is occupied mainly by residential options and, as a result, is relatively densely populated. Majority of the district’s commercial amenities are centred around its rail station, north-west of Shadwell Basin, but its residents are still amply served by the retail shops and restaurants dotting the rest of the area. Shadwell also boasts a number of small parks and gardens, and the basin is home to its very own fishing club. Additionally, the station offers access to both railway and DLR transport options, while the A1203 provides commuters who prefer to take their own cars and extremely convenient route to the City as well.
